Safeguarding
At Meole Brace C of E Primary School and Nursery we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We make every effort to ensure that consistent, effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support children, families and staff in school.
All members of staff have completed the relevant Child Protection Training and the school has a comprehensive policy, which links to the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education document, so that we can provide staff, governors and volunteers/visitors with the framework they need in order to keep children safe and secure in our school and to inform parents/carers how we will safeguard their children whilst they are in our care. Please see our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy for further information.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the safeguarding and well-being of children at our school, these should be brought to the attention of one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads:
You can also report your concerns directly to Compass (Children's Social Care in Shropshire) via the First Point of Contact on 0345 678 9021 or to the NSPCC. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, there are further support services you can access through Shropshire Council.
Online Safety
Online Safety features prominently in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and in our school's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy due to children's vulnerability when accessing the internet. Through our curriculum, we teach children about the potential dangers and how they can keep themselves safe, but we also support parents/carers to protect their children and encourage safe, healthy online behaviours. To learn more, please visit our dedicated Online Safety page and see our monthly Online Safety Newsletters.
Child Exploitation
Please see this parent/carer information leaflet from Shropshire Council regarding child exploitation, how you can recognise if your child may be at risk of exploitation and what you can do to help reduce the risks.
