Who are The Friends and what do we do?

The Friends is a group of parents/carers and extended family who, in collaboration with the school staff, work together to support the children in "letting their lights shine," in line with the school's vision. To do this, we aim to provide the children and their families with those little added extras and experiences that help to make school life so special. We hold various events through the school year including coffee mornings, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Mother's and Father's Day Breakfasts and the Christmas and Summer Fayres. Community is one of the school's core values and these events help us all to take an active part in that.

We are a registered charity and these events all support the fund raising we do for the school, which in the past has helped subsidise educational visits, visiting workshops and performances, the outdoor classroom and most recently, the fabulous trim trail by the Key Stage 2 playground. To learn more about The Friends' charity status and relevant responsibilities, please see the government document, The Essential Trustee.

How can I get involved?

All parents/carers are automatically members of The Friends and are therefore more than welcome at all meetings and events, but should anyone wish to take on a more active role, be that through volunteering for specific events or by joining the committee, please contact us on meolepta@outlook.com or come along to an event and chat to one of us directly. We are all very friendly (hence the name) and would love to hear from you! We appreciate that everyone has different working hours and other commitments, so any contributions and involvments are massively appreciated.
