Pearl of Africa Children's Choir

On Friday 11th October 2019, we were fortunate enough to be visited by the Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir from Uganda. Children from Reception to Year 6 took part in dance, drumming and singing workshops and were treated to performances in two very special assemblies.

Prior to the visit we learned a little about Uganda and the choir’s background as we are currently thinking about our core value of respect during Worship time. We thought about showing respect for visitors and for other cultures.

After school on the day of the visit, the choir gave another stunning performance to which parents/carers, families and members of the community were all welcome. At one point the children in attendance were called up to join the choir and show off what they had learned during the day. It was lovely to see so many families in attendance - thank you to all those who came out to support this fantastic event.

Christian Theme of the Month

The Christian theme for this half term is 'Community'.

"How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

In school we will be:

Exploring our core school value of Community.

Encouraging pupils to show community spirit.

Exploring the local and wider communities we are a part of.

Parents and carers, please help us at home to support your child in their understanding of the above concepts.
