Year 5 - Stingrays 2020 - 2021

Mrs Cooke

Hi  Stingrays and Turtles

I just wanted to say how much of a fantastic start you have all made to Year 5. You have all settled into class so brilliantly and it is hard to think that a lot of you were away from school for so much time. You have all been working really hard on your reading, writing and maths and so you should be so proud of yourselves.

I know that you are all enjoying our topic of the Saxons and Vikings and have learnt so much. We will continue to read the story of Beowulf after half term and hopefully learn much more about the Vikings!

This half term we will also be using the forest school area, so please remember to bring your forest school clothes!

- warm waterproof coat

-wellies - if possible

Remember-

PE is on a Tuesday and a Friday- so bring your kit and leave it in your locker !

We have spellings every week on a Friday and these are ijn your homework books to practise at home as well as at school

THESE ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE

Homework every day is read and spell.

Sometimes we may have extra work, and this will be handed in as soon as you have done it!

Christian Theme of the Month

The Christian theme for this half term is 'Trust'.

"My God is my strength in whom I trust." Psalm 18.2

In school we will be:

Exploring the value of trust.

Encouraging pupils to put trust in each other and adults both in school and at home.

Exploring what makes a person trustworthy and how we can earn the trust of others.

Parents and carers, please help us at home to support your child in their understanding of the above concepts.
