Year 5 - Stingrays 2019 - 2020

Mrs Cooke

Hi Stingrays and Turtles,

Week beginning  6th July- SPORTS WEEK! Check out the links on the school website main home learning section.

If you can't find them, I have put the links at the bottom of this page

Remember to email entries to me before Sunday ( counting up day)

Nearly at the Summer holidays, we have two more weeks of work to do like this!

This week we have another  slight change of plan

We are doing week 9 maths online 22nd  June White Rose   we have already covered  a little of the work that they are doing with us, so if the video seems unrelated, just go  to https://vimeo.com/430336159 for Monday  and use the worksheets  in our class pages home learning sections, and look at https://vimeo.com/430336386   for Tuesday . ON Wednesday and Thursday , the maths videos are as normal on the website page.

The sheets are in the  home learning section in the class pages as usual.

Remember,  because there were 2 extra weeks at the start of the maths,  we are on the week beginning 22nd June

For Literacy week 11 , Find chapter 1 of a new book called  Ghost Writer   online  as normal.

We are still keeping the  children altogether in school and at home so that when we do get back together, there will be a smoother transition, and we will all have done  roughly the same.

If you want extra, the website at the bottom of this page has lots of extra work to do, by linking you to other websites

MATHS

For LITERACY , carry on with the online text- at fiction express

https://en.fictionexpress.com/

Remember- only do chapter 1 of Ghost writer Those of you who read ahead, try to refamiliarize yourself with the text chapter, and if you are wanting more work,  read the ‘live books’ ! Or the level three book.

For topic work  there is  a  document which outlines work ideas related to our topic of Ancient Greece. This is to last for the second half term- even if we come back sooner- so take your time and do each activity really well.

DON’T FORGET-  the  craft ideas, and Mr. Bray’s worship videos to do in the ‘Home Learning’ section at the top of the page in the ‘Home Page’ of the School website.

Reminder- If you want more to do, go  the Government website

Remember – if you have a problem and need us please email us and we would love to see your work too!

Christian Theme of the Month

The Christian theme for this half term is 'Community'.

"How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

In school we will be:

Exploring our core school value of Community.

Encouraging pupils to show community spirit.

Exploring the local and wider communities we are a part of.

Parents and carers, please help us at home to support your child in their understanding of the above concepts.
