Year 3/4 Dolphins 2018 - 2019

Mrs Wilson

Thursday 29th March

There will be no homework over the Easter holidays to complete,  however we would still like you to continue learning any previous spelling rules and continue to practise mental maths strategies and times tables.

Next term we will be reading the Iron Man by Ted Hughes in class and we will also be doing various pieces of writing surrounding this.

PE will continue to be on a Tuesday and Wednesday but please keep your kit in school all week. We will be moving on to field games, athletics and swimming (second half of the term) in PE lessons.

Our focus for topic will be the Tudors and Tudor Shrewsbury.

We hope you enjoy the Easter Break and look forward to moving on into the summer term.

We are not setting times tables to learn for this half term. We will be focusing on mini mental maths tests. These will involve various maths skills. Children should continue to practise their times tables and strategies for working out addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.

A reminder: We are changing how we organise our spellings this term. Each week we will be learning a spelling rule in class, and will be asking children to learn the rule, they will then be tested on words which follow the rule.

Many Thanks

Mrs Wilson

Christian Theme of the Month

The Christian theme for this half term is 'Thankfulness'.

In school we will be:

Exploring the concept of being thankful.

Encouraging pupils to develop further an appreciative and thankful attitude.

Encouraging pupils to show thankfulness in practical ways.

Parents and carers, please help us at home to support your child in their understanding of the above concepts.
