Year 1 - Polar Bears 2020 - 2021

Mr Hunter

Polar Bears Autumn 2.

It has been a very busy  first half term. Well done to all of our Polar Bears for their hard work this half term. It was good to share our successes in the recent Parent Consultation meetings. l hope that they were informative and useful.

In the second half of our Autumn term, Forest School continues on a Monday and a Thursday. On these days, the children can come to school in their Forest School clothes. Please make sure that they bring their wellies in a separate bag to put on before going to Forest School.

Our PE sessions continue on Wednesday and Friday. The children will get changed in the classroom before PE. Their PE kit can stay in their locker and we will make sure it is sent home at half-term for washing.

Please continue to read with your child as often as possible to help them practise their phonics and increase their fluency. They can change their reading book  if they have read it with an adult at home and at school. Please remember to log your child's reading in their reading diary so we can see how their home reading is going too.

If you have any other questions or concerns, you can speak to me at the end of the school day.

Christian Theme of the Month

The Christian theme for this half term is 'Thankfulness'.

"Always be thankful." 1 Thessalonians 5.16

In school we will be:

Exploring the value of thankfulness.

Encouraging pupils to show thankfulness to each other and adults both in school and at homet.

Exploring the things we are thankful for and how we can show thanks.

Parents and carers, please help us at home to support your child in their understanding of the above concepts.
