Nursery - Shrimps 2021 - 2022

Mrs Nolan

Welcome to our Shrimp’s Class Page!

Hello lovely Shrimps!

I hope that you have all had a lovely Christmas holiday and are now ready for some fun learning in the nursery with me, Mrs Nolan and our lovely teaching assistants; Mrs Parker and Miss Leaman! I would like to thank all of you for the beautiful Christmas gifts and cards you were kind enough to send in for us, I opened all of mine on Christmas morning and thought about each and everyone of you as I opened them.

Welcome to the Spring Term 2022 in the Nursery!

I would like to say a big welcome to all those children who will be returning to us and to all those new children who will be starting with us over the next two weeks.

We have a fun and exciting term ahead and I am so excited to see you all.

Just to let you know…

During their time with us the children can choose to play inside or in the outdoor area throughout the day. Inside we have a book and talking corner, a small world and construction area, creative corner, writing and mark-making area, maths area, role play area and a large interactive white board for them to play with and a sensory tray. In the outdoor area we have a mud kitchen, water play, sand play, role play, large and small construction, ball skills, bikes and trikes and many other areas and activities.

And we have had another good sort out in our outdoor area, we now have more space for den-building and large construction and astro turf, which the children are enjoying playing on and more musical instruments, so might even make a stage and create some microphones to do some shows!

Please remember ….. the children will need to bring a water bottle filled with fresh water each day and their name written clearly on it. The children do have a mid-morning snack of a piece of fruit and will be offered a drink of milk or their water bottle as their drink. We do refill the bottles once they have drunk all their water as the day goes on. If your child stays for lunch, they have the option to bring a packed lunch from home or buy a school dinner, which they can order with us each morning.

Forest School ….. we will not be going to Forest School for the first few weeks, a text will be sent out to let you know when we are ready to start the sessions again, we need a couple of weeks to allow our new children to settle in first. Also, our Forest School Session will be changing from a Tuesday to a FRIDAY morning. It will be called Forest School Fridays!

We are looking forward to all our fun learning with your lovely children this Spring Term in the Nursery.

Thank you for your kind and continued support,

Mrs Nolan,

Mrs Parker and Miss Leaman.

Half Term, by Mr Bray

Christian Theme of the Month

The Christian theme for this half term is 'Courage'.

"Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1.9

In school we will be:

Exploring the value of courage.

Encouraging pupils to show courage when things are difficult.

Exploring ways in which we can be courageous in our learning and both in and out of school.

Parents and carers, please help us at home to support your child in their understanding of the above concepts.
